Panos Dimitrakopoulos is a kanun soloist, composer and producer. In a very personal style that pays the outmost respect to the unique, melodramatic sound of this ancient Middle Eastern instrument he masterfully bridges the mysticism of the East with the lyricism of the West. Going far beyond the traditional ways of expression, he alters the music forms, not only of the musical styles but also of the musical instrument itself, creating a brand-new sound.
