Vera Țurcanu is a Moldovan singer from Chișinău, who has participated in the Star of Chișinău, X Factor Romania, The Voice of Turkey (O Ses Türkiye), and Romanian singing competition Cântă Acum Cu Mine. She is most known for her three participations in O melodie pentru Europa, the Moldovan national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her first participation came in 2015, together with Diana Popa, with the self-penned song "Faith". Vera returned in 2018, this time backed by an international songwriting team, with the song "Black Heart". Coming in 2nd place, Vera and her team instantly knew they'd return the following year. In 2019, she performed the more upbeat song "Cold". She states James Brown, Beyoncé, Carla's Dreams, Sia, Harry Styles, and Imagine Dragons as her main influences.
