Biography

Born Richard Orlando Roache on August 11, 1978, he is the first born and only son to a single mother. Richard attended St Patrick’s Primary School then moved on to Norman Manley High School in Kingston, Jamaica. He received a degree in Marketing and Communications while attending Institute Of Marketing Sales, he continued his trade in Marketing and it was then he found his passion for music. Richard became a sound system selector playing at clubs and other events alongside friend and fellow selector Kevin ‘Bomma’ Hilton, he then found himself in the studio creating his first accomplishment. SCANNER In 2002 at the age of 20 Richard got his first hit when he produced “Scanner” a upbeat dancehall rhythm that was engineered and built by Gary ‘Shanguly’ Samuels, the rhythm boast a well sort after list of talented artists ranging from Mr. Vegas, Beenie Man, Mega Banton and Vybz Kartel, but it was the Vybz Kartel ‘Up To Di time’ that gave Richard the breakthrough he wanted. Scanner became recognized worldwide and ‘Up To Di Time’ became one of Vybz Kartel first hit. KING JAMMY’S Richard became senior Public Relations Manager at King Jammy’s Studio where he was in charge of promoting and distributing music to print media, radio and television. He worked with Dancehall group ward 21, Dancehall / Reggae Artist Wayne Marshall, Bounty Killer and many others.
