Biography

Aleksander Nohr has been impressing audiences and critics with his rich and imposing baritone voice and his well-timed acting for years. 
 Aleksander hails from Kjerringøy in the north of Norway. He began his vocal studies at the Institute of Music at NTNU in Trondheim, continuing his training at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and The Opera Academy in Copenhagen. 
 He has since his graduation from the been contracted as a soloist with companies including the Royal Danish Theater, Malmö Opera, the Arctic Philharmonic Opera and the Danish National Opera. He has played Dandini in Rossini's La Cenerentola, and Schaunard in Puccini's La Boheme in Stefan Herheim's productions for the Norwegian National Opera. 
 Aleksander is an experienced oratorio soloist and prize winning lieder singer. He has appeared with the Arctic Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Odense Symphony Orchestra, Concerto Copenhagen and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. 
 He contributes one song cycle together with pianist Sofia Wilkman on the anthology "Songs" by composer John Frandsen, and is featured on the newly released complete collection of Peter Heises artsongs together with pianist Christian Westergaard on Dacapo Records
