Mike McGuinness, professionally known as Lempo, is an award-winning DJ and music producer. Founder of the Applique Music record label, the annual Eivissa Partido event and the Twisted Melon radio show. His career began in 2006 with DJ residencies at the now legendary Sankeys and Venus nightclubs in Manchester - where he earned the nickname ‘The Party Starter’ for his role as warm-up act for the headline artists. In 2010, Lempo was voted Manchester’s number one DJ on The DJ List. His success has seen him perform for global club brands including Ministry of Sound, Cream, Pacha and The Warehouse Project. Lempo’s productions have gained several high-profile commercial placements, most notably on Channel 4 (UK), The X-Factor (Australia) and Disney XD (USA). In 2016 his single ‘Goinout’ was shortlisted for ‘Best Dance Track’ in the 59th Grammy Awards. Lempo has signed material with many prestigious recording labels, including Strictly Rhythm, CR2 Records and Todd Terry’s In House Records. Collaborating with artists such as K-Klass, Artful Dodger, Ruff Diamond and Will Clarke, along with a diversity of featured vocalists, such as Chuck Roberts, MC Flipside, Nancy Sinatra, Princess Superstar and Roland Clark. Lempo’s production credits also include remix commissions for household names, Snoop Dogg, General Levy and Dawn Penn.
