Born in 1991, Johnjay who is a rap recording artist from stockdale,Texas aka “The Dirty Dale” grew up with musicians as his peers. Beginning his journey into music he saw Linkin Park as one of his influences, he played guitar and wrote songs before the age of 17 years old with his friends locally. Kenny Chesney and Michael Jackson also played a role as influences threw his step-dad who had documentaries of the artist along with records of the 2 icons. A trip to San Antonio at the age of 17 would changed his perspective on how he would approach music from then on. For the first time he witnessed someone kick some nice Freestyle Raps during a drive in San Antonio. His body rushed with adrenaline as he saw this. “This is what I want to do”,is what he thought to himself and that he did! During the drive back to Stockdale the 2 begun to Freestyle. After this day it turned into an every day addiction. Lil’Wayne and ludacris would now be his major influences despite his past passion for music. John Jay then recorded his first track at the Age of 18 and went on to make multiple records ever since. He would like to be remembered for bringing joy to anywhere he went in life. “ You should live life with no regrets”, says John Jay as he smiled.
