Tom Schippers is a techno producer and DJ from Haarlem in The Netherlands. He is the founding father of 023TECHNO hosting parties with the hottest names in today’s techno like Thomas Schumacher, Bart Skils, Spektre, Johannes Heil, 2000andOne and Umek. Tom simply lives and breathes techno for all his life. Growing up in Haarlem just outside of Amsterdam he has always been a great music lover and in particular that driving 4/4 rhythm. Working in a rockvenue at a young age he started out as a fan of punk and rock bands in the 90’s. It was Jeff Mills doing his wizardry on three turntables that gave him the revelation of techno. He thought it was magic seeing someone use the turntable as an actual instrument. Tom started messing around himself with records and under the illustrious name of ‘Schijfrijders’ (literal but crazy translation of discjockeys in Dutch) he started organizing parties with a group of friends quite quickly. Hosting names like John Selway, Green Velvet, DJ Hell, Speedy J, Âme, Andrew Weatherall and Ken Ishii.
