Biography

The first laureate of the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival International Piano Solo Competition, Leo Tardin has announced the dawn of a new generation of Swiss pianists. After releasing five albums with his Grand Pianoramax project, with which he has performed all over the world (Tokyo Jazz Festival, Paleo Festival Nyon, CMJ Music Marathon New York, Akbank Jazz Festival Istanbul, etc.), he has devoted himself more and more exclusively to his new solo project. For this, he recorded more than twenty concerts, and then carefully extracted the very best moments. These selected tracks were then gathered under the title Collection, a triple album to be released on October 5th 2018, with many original supplements (a songbook, video tutorials available on Youtube and downloadable alternate takes). Leo Tardin has also collaborated with many artists, including Roy Ayers, Erik Truffaz, Burhan Öçal, Maria João, Paula Oliveira, Grégoire Maret and Spleen to name a few. He lived ten years in New York, where he graduated from the New School University, followed by two years in Berlin, before setting base back in Geneva, his hometown.
