Tāmaki Makaurau based electronic duo Imugi 이무기 is comprised of producer-DJ Carl Ruwhiu and writer-vocalist Yery Cho. Exhilarating both underground and overground crowds with their raw but refined cosmic-scale aesthetics since 2017, the pair have continued to blur and reset the slipstream with an eclectic blend of poetic consciousness in musings of R&B, emo, indie, electronic dance music and hip-hop. Christened by VICE as "Tāmaki Makaurau’s most blunted bedroom soul duo" Imugi 이무기 remain steady and careful with their releases off the back of their gorgeous sophomore EP Dragonfruit. The pair continue to experiment with sonic and emotional landscapes that encompass their vibrant live shows- with a track record spanning from festival performances including Splore, Rhythm & Vines, Laneway, Cupa Dupa and AUM, as well as supporting international and local acts - Jungle, Red Bull Presents, BAYNK, Leisure, Cosmo’s Midnight and Crooked Colors amongst many others.
