Jessie Monk is folk singer-song-writer and contemporary dancer, a precipitate of the old; Joni Mitchell and Linda Perhacs, distorted in sacral modernity with the influences of Wilco, Aldous Harding and Twain. Born in Canada, she grew up in GunaiKurnai Land, Australia and after performing as an actress and dancer in David Bowie's 'Lazarus', moved to Berlin, where she recorded and released her Debut EP, ‘Here, Now’, 2021. Jessie’s debut LP, Continually Becoming, weaves a tapestry of traditions inc. folk, indie, jazz, celtic, and new-music, to bring the soul of the 70’s folk-cafe-circuit into the experimental mytho-poetry of her generation.
