Beautiful Trash

Biography

Riding through catchy rhythms highlighted by tense guitar riffs, Sixer stretch out beyond punk rock's rampant melodies, bestowing an unconventional fusion of alternative rock & roll. Forming in Richmond, VA, in the late '90s, with a lineup consisting of former Ann Beretta-members Leer Baker (guitar, vocals) and Chris Rupp (guitar), and Casey Martin and Dan Duggin, Sixer swiftly made it to the top within the local underground music scene. The band's energizing live performances decisively contributed to a faithful fan base during the months subsequent to forming. In 2000, the crew managed to release their first record, the EP Busted Knuckles and Heartbreak, that secured them extensive praise and recognition. The band then entered a long touring season along with Blanks 77. Saving Grace, Sixer's debut album, appeared though the TKO record label in 2001. During the following months, the Richmond squad entered a wide-ranging tour, taking them all over the U.S. and Europe, as the opening act for the Forgotten. Upon their return, personal problems forced the band to take a small hiatus. They decided to move to BYO Records after getting back together, and released Beautiful Trash there in the summer of 2002.~ Mario Mesquita Borges
