Even with the loss of his ears from a tragic incident at a young age, through faith in Jesus, he learned the freedom of expression through songwriting. Blending the sound of soul in an ambient, electronic wave of R&B, Eli Limaj delivers an indie sound that is hypnotic, familiar and oh so refreshing. Eli Limaj (also known as Jamil Houston) is an American singer- songwriter and music producer from Atlanta, GA. His journey began during his early teenage years, discovering music as more than a muse for listening, but as a form of expression. His gift of singing was polished in both church and school, which eventually led him to study sound design at SCAD - The Savannah College of Art and Design. While at SCAD, Jamil released two albums (‘WAVE’ - Jamil; 2015 and ‘Grounded’ - Eli Limaj; 2017), developed a fanbase and received his B.F.A in Sound Design. It was in Atlanta where Jamil began to pursue music more studious and learn the industry from the inside, shadowing and getting to meet professionals such as Elton John, Donald Glover, Randy Spendlove, Mike Will Made It, J White Did It, Thom Kidd (TK), Miles Walker and many more. Navigating this journey called life he’s using everything he’s learning to create new music. His goal is to have music that fits almost every moment that comes with life. With tracks like “Hopeful Cynic”, “With Me”, and “To Be You”, Eli Limaj’s career is just getting started, with a bright future ahead.
