The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is a 17 piece big band based in Tennessee. The group was founded in 1999 by trumpeter Vance Thompson and performs a wide range of music from the jazz tradition. The group has received rave reviews from NPR's All Songs Considered, Downbeat Magazine, All About Jazz, All Music Guide, appeared at major international festivals and performed with dozens of internationally acclaimed artists.
