When Romanian operatic bass Leo met Welsh multi-instrumentalist and producer Neil on a snowy night in Germany in early 2019, they quickly laid the foundations for Llama The Destroyer. Leo was keen to indulge his deep love of blues, rock and soul, while Neil, coming from the extreme metal underground, post-punk and electro scenes, had been searching for a collaborator for years. The resulting debut EP, “Undermined”, is a genre-defying release that tips the nod to alt-country, piano house, neo-folk and much more. Frequently moody, frequently uplifting, it’s the result of a unique collaboration between two audiophiles arriving from different ends of the musical spectrum in a clash of ideas that brings some inevitable fireworks.
