South African rapper and songwriter BuddaPest is an artist originating from Cape Town, South Africa. With a smooth flow, baritone voice and punchy delivery, BuddaPest aims to enlighten audiences with thought provoking lyrics while entertaining the listener through his delivery and instrumentation. Co-Owner of the Mixing Room Studio Lloyd Kiewietz grew up being exposed to lots of South African jazz and international Hip Hop music from his parents which influenced the music he created. Coming from a family that values education he was encouraged to get a degree before pursuing his career in music. After classes himself and his longtime friend, Cape Town based producer KenJay Beats would record and create either on campus or in his bedroom. Graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Innovation and Technology and landing on the Dean’s list at AFDA. After graduating BuddaPest started pursuing music full time and opened a studio with producer KenJay Beats and Vocalist Soulful Clay called the Mixing Room. In order to push talent within South Africa and provide access and a platform for talented individuals to develop further.
