Raised in Detroit, moving to the Bay Area as a preteen, literature, poetry & lyrics have always been home to MC/Singer/Songwriter/Producer Chelsea Monet. Leaving hoop dreams behind & abandoning traditional higher education , in 2013, Chelsea moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a full time performing & recording artist. She has since had over 500 performances at venues in LA and across the U.S. including Arlene's Grocery(NYC) , The Novo (DTLA) , Joshua Tree Music Festival , The Viper Room (WeHo) & The Regent (DTLA) . In 2016 she was a founding member of the Afro-Latinx hip-hop band Earth Arrow , playing music centered on the plight of black and brown people in the Americas. Known for her outspoken nature & challenging the status quo, Chelsea uses the ancient art of storytelling to uplift , inspire & shed light on the experiences of disenfranchised people worldwide.
