Biography

Sphinx's career begins in 1992 when Manuel Rodriguez and Carlos Delgado decide to found the band. After multiple lineup changes, they released their first LP in 2001 called “Sphinx”. It was a good first step to start touring the festivals and stages where they were recruiting a good number of fans. Was with their second record "Mar de Dioses" in 2003, when the band was considered one of the revelation lineup of the Spanish metal scene. In January 2005 they self-published "Paraiso en la eternidad", with which they obtained several awards from the specialized press, and made an extensive tour throughout the country. However, after the release of their fourth record "Renacer" in 2008, problems began with their record label, which slows down the band's career. Justi (guitar) and Manuel (vocals) also suffer health problems, that temporarily take them away from the stages. After 5 years without releases, they try to refloat the band with the release of their fifth LP “Chronos” in 2013, but fatigue after years of intense work and internal problems caused the band to split in September 2014. In November 2019, the band returns to activity and announces reunion shows on Madrid, Sevilla and Festival Leyendas del Rock. In January 2021, after a change in the band's lineup with the addition of drummer Nykly Perez, the group announced that they were working on a new studio album.
