Biography

OM53 (Cris Araya) is a project from New Jersey filled with synths, nostalgia, and honesty. OM53 released the EP “get better” in January 2024 and now prepares to release “Letting Go of Yesterday” July 2024. OM53 continues to grow sonically inspired by bands like Tennis, Men I Trust, Tame Impala, Hers, Dayglow and Boy Pablo. In 2020 OM53 released its debut album "Defender" and its single was named song of the year in one of Guatemala's biggest radio stations. The music continued to become popular in Latin America and the UK. As the team grew so did its sound, and in 2021 "Junior Year (Homecoming) Side A" came to life. The now indie pop project was ready to show its supporters a more intimate side of music. This album was an open letter that showed the struggle with insecurities, love, church politics, and just growing up. Since then OM53 has opened for acts like Colony House, Newsboys, Lecrae, We the Kingdom, and others playing a wide range of venues all over the country including the main stage at Creation Fest, Soul Fest, and the Mann Center in Philadelphia. The music is filled with nostalgia, faith, analog synths, chorus guitars, and catchy melodies. OM53 is here to stay and make moves for the indie scene. Gloria a Dios Siempre.
