Pursuing music at a very young age, Arjuna Rookantha is a Sri Lankan singer, a gifted versatile vocalist, instrumentalist and a composer who is blessed with the gift of singing in multiple languages with an astounding vocal range. He is also the Runner up of Sirasa Super Star Season 3 (A reality show for singers) and a member of the winning team of Sirasa Mega Sangeeth 2012 produced by Sirasa TV. Arjuna entered the music industry via his hit single ‘Sodi lama hasa’ which was short listed at Derana Music Video awards and ‘Saminde’ which was ranked the 16th position at the ‘GLOBAL ROCKSTAR 2013’ competition conducted by Austria where over 90 countries and 440 contestants participated. Arjuna also represented Sri Lanka at the ‘ABU TV SONG FESTIVAL 2012’ (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) at Seoul, South Korea. In 2016, Arjuna was the Music Director for ‘Shakthi Unwind’, a show on Shakthi TV which provides a platform for renowned and upcoming artists of various genres, regions and languages to collaborate musically in live studio recorded music performances. Arjuna created new music arrangements for acclaimed music tracks of different languages and also performed as a vocalist on all episodes. He also directed music and performed vocally on a tribute episode for the internationally acclaimed musician, AR Rahman. He was also the Music Director on 'Shakthi Super star' in 2020. Arjuna’s latest single ‘Prathirawe’ was included in the playlist of BBC Asian Network in UK.
