Biography

Jón Jónsson was born on October 30th in 1985 in the small town of Hafnarfjordur, Iceland. All his life, he has been active musically, both in his local music school and in big productions in high school and college. After graduating with a degree in economics from Boston University in 2009, Jón Jónsson returned to Iceland and became a professional musician after releasing his first single in 2010. Jón‘s single, 'When You‘re Around', was his first smash hit and reached #2 on the Icelandic Billboard in late 2010, while his first number one was 'All, You, I' in 2012. Jón has had numerous number once since, including songs like 'Ljúft að vera til', 'Gefðu allt sem þú átt', 'Your Day', 'Á sama tíma, á sama stað', 'Með þér' and 'Ef ástin er hrein'. From 2012-2014 Jón was signed to Sony’s Epic Records in America after singing for LA Reid and his staff at his office in Sony' headquarters. Along with being a musician, Jón juggles multiple balls. He is a TV personality on the national TV, hosting a family show and the Eurovision qualifying show. In 2014 and 2015, he was a judge on the TV show, Iceland’s Got Talent. Jon has won the national championship several times with one of Iceland’s biggest football clubs, FH Hafnarfjordur. Jón has also lent his voice to a lot of different characters for the Icelandic voice-over in the animated features such as The Lorax, Dispicable Me 2, Rio 2, the Minions, The Grinch, Ugly Dolls and Lyle Lyle Crocodile.
