DeAndre is a Boston based Artist. Who spent his early childhood in a refugee camp in Kenya. Having spent most of his childhood there he aspires to bring a new voice into the music industry - one that no one has heard before. His love for music began at a young age when his father would take him to the market place in Kakuma when he was tailoring clothes for other people. The market place has a lot of vendors selling things raging from chicken to movies, it was the place to find hidden gems. The marketplace introduced him to the latest American music at the time, artists like 50 Cent and Michael Jackson were always played in the background. But it wasn’t until he moved to the United States that his real introduction to music began, through programs like B.E.T’s 106 & park and MTV jam. That’s where he discovered a lot of his favorite artists today, like Kanye, Drake, J. Cole and many others. DeAndre is not native to the culture of the west but he assimilated himself to be an indistinguishable part of it anyways just merely by observing it. When you think of DeAndre, you feel like you have the ability to act, despite the obstacles and circumstances.
