Muzamil Qurashi Zaman A.k.a MQZ was born on the 10th of December 1982 in London, United Kingdom and brought up in Karachi, Pakistan. His parents separated when he was young and has a sister. He came to Pakistan with his mother in 1989. From a very young age he used to watch Pakistani and Indian movies from where he derived his love or passion for songwriting and singing. He was a student at St. Micheal’s Convent School in Karachi and on March of 2014 Donxila started to make his own songs. Some were out of sync but he still kept on going while using the name Donxila which means : Don = Dawn and Xila is a Urdu word meaning District so the meaning of this name is “ Rising Sun District ” He was heavily influenced by voices of Late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Mohd Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, R.D Burman, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Madam Noor Jehan, Abida Parveen. He was also into western sounds of Bob Marley, Bill Withers, Metallica, Slayer, Bon Jovi, Muddy Waters and etc but his real passion became Hip Hop after he discovered the album by Late Tupac Shakur “ Strictly 4 My N****Z ” His own music is heavily influenced by Southern Rap and has a Pop sound which you can listen to on MQZ profile. He is a Pop Rap Artist. Muzamil believes that there are many artists in Pakistan who need to know that they can put themselves on. “ This is just one of many ways of doing it ! Believe in yourself. ”
