Biography

Shoshana Jedwab is a feminist singer-songwriter of Jewish and world contemporary sacred music. Her zipper song, “Where You Go,” arrived at the right moment, providing a protest and prayer anthem celebrating radical inclusion and love in the face of rising xenophobia. “Where You Go (I Will Go)” won song of the year in 2017 at the Unitarian Universalist General Assembly and was included in Extinction Rebellion U.K.’s Songbook. “Where You Go” was also featured in the 2018 film, “This Little Light,” documenting the LGBTQ activism of New Orleans Black Feminist freedom singer, Wendi Moore-O’Neal. Shoshana Jedwab is one of Jewish Rock Radio’s “Women Who Rock the Worship World.” Her other tracks include her 2016, seven-song, “I Remember” debut album, her 2020 body-positive single, “Openings,” and singles, "Torah Orah and "Life is Born." Shoshana Jedwab is also a prayer leader, hand drummer and sacred text teacher. She was a founding faculty member of the Kohenet Hebrew Priestess institute where she workshopped many of her original prayer songs. Shoshana Jedwab also serves as the Jewish Life Coordinator at the A.J. Heschel Middle School where she has taught Jewish Studies for over three decades.
