Zidein

Biography

Singer-songwriter, Poet (Hindi & Urdu) from Bhopal, INDIA. Well, presently. Starting out as Army officer in the making till 2008, MBA scholar and vocalist of Prog-rock band “Joshish” featured on MTV Rock On II through 2008-11, full-time corporate marketeer by 2011, and a start-up cofounder for 2015-16, it was 2017 that brought me to what I identified best as : a singer-songwriter, entrepreneur and a writer. ज़िदें · Zidein · ضدیں features 4 stubborn decade-old songs that have endured my several give-ups and career-change attempts to now be heard best as visual poetry around an Indian Folk/Alt Rock sonic - knitted together in raw symphonic arrangements. “Zidein”, in Urdu/Hindi denotes obstinance in plurality - for lack of a better word to depict this emotion in the English language. As an attempt to depict my story in the EP, Befikri starts reminiscing a home with a mother and father – a lap to go sleep in carefree. Ibaadat sets the stage for the wave of change – a disoriented mind revisiting a life-altering separation – eccentrically questioning choices calling it worship that was a mistake. Aaghaaz is the perfect silence before the storm – that tranquil moment of realisation of self-worth before the leap. Acceptance of “Waqt khud taraashay jo hunar wo mumtaaz hai..” in Aaghaaz is an opening to the eccentricity that Zidein celebrates with an upbeat Progressive folk sonic. Cheers!
