Jaye Moni is a prolific rapper, song writer and singer from Tottenham, North London. Jaye was born in Lagos, Nigeria and from an early age her only exposure to music was in church on Sundays. At the age of 13, Jaye borrowed two CDs from her older brother's collection. One of those CDs was the Tupac album entitled 'All Eyes On Me' and it was this album that made Jaye fall in love with hip-hop. That year for Christmas her dad bought her an audio Jukebox for her room and from then on she would lock herself indoors singing or rapping along to her favourite artists as well as writing her own tracks. At the age of 16, Jaye was talent spotted by a London based producer called AQ Wolf with his own record label. He began to take Jaye Moni to record studios in London and made her a member and the first lady of Black Cash Entertainment. In this label, Jaye was not only the youngest artist but only the only female amongst a stable of male rappers. Unfortunately the label situation never worked out for Jaye and at her parents insistence she shunned music to focus on obtaining her degree and then her Masters degree from UCL. In 2015, following a studio session in Nigeria, Jaye was inspired to release her music to the world. She has so far released four singles and is continuing to cement her place in the rap and afrobeats record. She has a following both in the UK and in Nigeria especially.
