Solo artist, songwriter, mult-instrumentalist and record producer Jonny Polonsky grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He began making music as a young boy, and was discovered as a teenager by Frank Black/Black Francis of Pixies, after being introduced through David Bowie guitarist Reeves Gabrels. Polonsky was signed at age 21 by Rick Rubin to American Recordings, by way of a Frank Black produced demo. On his major label debut, Hi My Name Is Jonny, Polonsky wrote all the songs, played all the instruments and recorded everything himself. Super producer Brendan O'Brien (Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen) was brought in to mix. The record was an international cult favorite, and continues to be to this day. It was heavily featured on MTV, in NY Times, Rolling Stone, Spin and countless publications across the globe. In addition to releasing multiple solo records, he has gone on to become an in demand session player--recording and performing with the likes of Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Donovan, Dixie Chicks, Puscifer, Vincent Gallo, Perry Farrell, Scarlett Johansson, Minnie Driver, Tom Morello: the Nightwatchman, and many others. His 2015 album, The Other Side of Midnight, was performed entirely by Polonsky. It was mixed by Dean Hurley at David Lynch's Asymmetrical Studios. His fifth full length, Fresh Flesh, was released in 2018. It featured guest spots by Mark Lanegan and Kevin Haskins (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, Tones On Tail).
