MAU is an indietronica band based in Lisbon. The band was formed in Denmark, in 2004, by Luís F. de Sousa, Pablo Camp, Shir Comay, Jonas Jensen and Pia Mechler. After moving to Portugal, that same year, Shir, Jonas and Pia left the band. Nuno Lamy, António Soares and César Gomes replaced them, joining forces with Luís and Pablo. In 2006, MAU released their first album "Man And Unable". In 2008, the band released their second record "Tales Of Wonder, Fur And Deception". In September 2010 MAU presented themselves with a new formation, Luís F. de Sousa, Nuno Lamy and Pedro Oliveira. They released their third album "Backseat Love Songs" that same year, and a few months after "Backseat Love Songs Remixed", in which you can find remixes by Dubka (from Cazals - UK), Heartbreak (UK), Karetus (PT), Rockets (PT), The Odd (PT), SYA (PT) and more. In 2014, Eliana Fernandes, Paulo Silva and Carlos Costa (who replaced Pedro Oliveira on guitar) joined the band. MAU released their forth and final album "Safari Entrepreneur" that same year. After a year promoting their last album live, the band decided to call it a day, in September 2015. Almost five years after they broke up, MAU are about to release (17/01/2020) a Deluxe Edition of their final album "Safari Entrepreneur", with 30 songs. Apart from the 12 original songs from the record, this special edition will include remixes, bonus, demo and unfinished tracks.
