Biography

Emanuele Tozzi is a composer based in New York, born in Abruzzo, Italy. Songwriting has been his instinctive expression since the age of seven. He studied music at Scuola Civica di Jazz in Milano and privately with Mº Marincola. He continued his education at the Juilliard School attending courses in Composition, Scoring to Picture, and Jazz Piano. He worked with Mº Maurizio Fabrizio. He has won awards for both his songwriting and filmmaking (Premio Nickelodeon). In 2012 he was a semifinalist at the festival of Musicultura. He regularly performs in New York City. Notable venues include Smalls Jazz Club, Minton's Playhouse, Le Poisson Rouge. He has also brought his music to venues such as the Alexanderplatz Jazz Club in Rome and other music venues in Europe and Asia. He released three albums: Italian Souvenir (2012), Transatlantico (2016), and Waltz Street (2021). Some of his tunes have been featured in several international compilations released by Putumayo World Music. Emanuele brings a modernistic touch of the Old World to New York City. His sound has been likened to a Fellini soundtrack highlighted with chocolate notes, combining jazz with fragments of traditional classic Italian melodies, Roma Cinecittà by way of the Manhattan Bridge. In addition to his music skills, Emanuele holds a Law degree, an LL.M and a Diploma of Sommelier. He completed three New York marathons and two New York Triathlons.
