For more than 25 years, Jay Selway has been a staple of the American electronic music scene. Well known for being the first psytrance DJ in the mid-atlantic USA to gain a regular following, he also was the prime force for kickstarting the DC psytrance scene in the mid 2000s. His events brought in some of the most well known artists in the industry at the time, including Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, Astrix, John '00' Fleming and more. Jay moved on from there to double down on producing music, gaining immediate international notoriety. His remixes on JOOF recordings, reached top 10 status on Beatport, and were played by trance djs all over the world and were in the regular rotation on BBC Radio One. Licensed for release on Ministry of Sound and subsequent Psytrance Euphoria CDs, his music was a regular find in DJ sets for years. After sustaining a serious injury during MMA training, Jay was forced to take a few years off from the DJ and production circuit, but quickly reemerged with his new, slower, and groovier sound. With subsequent releases in the progressive world, his releases on Iboga, Iono Music, and Blue Tunes gained similar notoriety. In recent years, Jay has broadened his sound, exploring the world of breaks, drum and bass, and techno, with his recent breaks track, "Scar Work" on Rune Recordings, charting at #4 on Beatport. He also has been pushing his sound into the deeper, melodic techno world, with his releases on Ibogatech.
