Biography

João Caetano, a son of Portuguese parents was born and raised in Macau. At the age of 18, he won a scholarship to the U.K. João Caetano joined the legendary band Incognito at the age of 21 and so far he has already done 8 world tours and 8 albums, as a core member of the band. He has also collaborated with artists such as Chaka Khan, Mario Biondi, Anastacia, Leona Lewis, Jessie J and Dionne Bromfield. In 2016, the musician, producer and artist João Caetano releases his “At One Voice” debut duet Single with “Bluey” for London- based SplashBlue. João Caetano’s vivid and energetic stage performance carries a musical genre combining elements of jazz, folk and world and traditional music encompassing both traditional percussion and Fado (inscribed in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists). João has often been described as one of the most exiting and dynamic Portuguese artists of his generation João Caetano has now headlined the Fado and Flamenco Festival of Badajoz both in 2022 and 2023, as well as selling out the legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott's where he performed with special guest Robbie McIntosh. João has also performed twice for the iconic London Jazz Festival. João has also recently been a collaborator of two of the biggest names in Portugal, Slow J and Rui Veloso. João Caetano is about to release his new EP "CADA VEZ MAIS" in memory of his writing partner Paulo Abreu Lima, with who he wrote most of his work so far.
