Biography

A pseudonymous quartet of Guts (vocals), Crazy (guitar), Risto (bass) and J.T. (bass), Finnish heavy metal/blues rock group Havana Black released their domestic debut album in 1988. This was quickly followed by an international release for Capitol Records. The sound on Indian Warrior was cited by critics as a direct descendent of the mid-70s work of Bad Company and Humble Pie, though their stage presentation had more in common with the street imagery of fellow countrymen Hanoi Rocks. The majority of the songs were the same as those included on their domestic debut, although some of the lyrics had been sanitized for the American market. It was heavily promoted but fared poorly in a market saturated with fellow 70s revivalist bands such as the Black Crowes and the Quireboys.
