Biography

Trey Dilla introducing brand new studio release: 320 April 2020 - Trey Dilla recently announced the release of a brand new studio effort, 320. This album is actually an amazing example of this artist’s unique sound and ability to set the bar higher in terms of production excellence. There are many highlights on this record, including the song “Southside Everywhere,” which features a trippy beat and some effected back-ground melodies, going for a distinctive and one-of-a-kind tone. Trey’s vocals are deep, direct and articulate, with a distinctive ebb and flow, often reminiscent of industry greats such as Biggie Smalls as well as Run The Jewels, just to mention a few. “Backsliding” is another album highlight in my opinion. The track combines some soothing background melodies with a one-of-a-kind beat that feels hypnotic, yet quite powerful and direct. With iconic lines such as “I am wrestling demons down to their knees,” the track has a personal and inspiring tone, which sets the bar higher in terms of its lyrical storytelling. There is also room for a collaboration. The song “Tell Me” combines haunting melodic drones and swelling effects with a processed beat and some laid-back vibes, as well as a features wit fellow artist Smoke Owl, who brought a special touch to this song. The songs on this record are definitely going to make its way into your heart (and hopefully your favorite playlists)
