aBnormal joY is an emerging female Alternative Hip-Hop artist coming out of the DMV. While she’s known to experiment with various dark trap, trap metal, and emo rap instrumentation, her introspective lyricism, punchlines, and bold delivery are often staples in her music. 
 At just eight years old, joY was introduced to hardcore rap music and began exploring subgenres such as horrorcore and “rap-metal” as it was called then. She’d find herself falling more into metal and punk culture at the age of twelve. The transition from an avid fan to an artist herself was swift and fearless, recording/releasing her first song at the age of thirteen in 2015 and she hasn’t stopped since. 
 In late 2021, aBnormal joY began releasing a slew of heavy-hitting singles, garnering droves of new listeners and even more career-building opportunities in the process. In March 2022, joY played her first live show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her high-energy and engaging performance style has since had her in high demand. So far, she’s played shows in Pittsburgh as well as many across the DMV area. 
 Going into 2023, aBnormal joY doesn’t plan to stop there. She plans to tour more and more cities, post more transparent content on her social media accounts, and she’s teased that her debut mixtape, colDWar - a raw, vulnerable project touching on one's inherent 'coldness' towards self - will be released throughout the year as well.
