Eleanor uses complex layers of vocals and electronic synthesis to create haunting and ethereal compositions for her songs of birth, addiction, death and friendship. She wrote her first song layering vocals with a casio keyboard and cassette players at the age of 12. After a wild career as an aerial acrobat she has returned to making music. Debut E.P coming soon... The Sun Shines on the Fallen Tree is a homage to the Ash Tree in its decline and the sunshine and energy in the woodland glade when a large tree falls. Inspired by movements of a requiem this composition is a meditation on what woodland brings us, on loss, on how we can nurture those trees that will survive and on the new growth we must fill the void with. It’s an invitation to reflect more broadly on the energy and optimism we need to fill the spaces as we lose so many species to climate change. This piece of music was made for an immersive sound and light sculpture made by Pif-Paf from locally sourced Ash trees felled due to Ash dieback, traditionally steam bent and set with re-usable technology. The Sculpture grew through the doorway and opened into the space of a wooden panelled chapel at Wentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham.
