Umntungwambulazi is an artist from a small town called Empangeni, KwaZuluNatal. He uses his vernacular language creatively to express his message through his lyrics, his unique style to blend within rap, trap and kwaito has made him one of the talented upcoming rappers in South Africa. He grew up listening to a variety of underground and commercial artists including Zola 7, Pro Kid, Teargas, Maggz, Skepta, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar. His influence of growing up in Zululand in rural areas has made him conscious about telling his stories through wordplay and creative rhyming patterns using his mother tongue. Umntungwambulazi was born in September 1999, in his music he highlights the life of an ordinary young black male around a harsh environment in pursuit of a dream to have fun and inspire others around him.
