Sergio Sorrentino: "A Superb Musician" (The Wire Magazine) Sorrentino is acclaimed as "the best concert music electric guitarist" (Il Manifesto) and “one of the most important contemporary guitarists” (RAI Radio Tre). His music combines elements of contemporary classical music, minimalism, modern classical, ambient, experimental. In 2021 Philip Glass released Sergio Sorrentino's recording of Glass: Orphée's Bedroom on the electric guitar, on his label Orange Mountain Music; it's earning a lot of success. In 2022, there was a new collaboration between Glass and Sorrentino, this time with Philip Glass: Opening (Electric Guitar Version). Sergio plays with the great Gavin Bryars as a member of the Gavin Bryars Ensemble (their duo album here: Gavin Bryars: Electric Guitar Works) and he collaborated live and in studio with Loren Connors (their duo album here: Shadow) , Machinefabriek (their album here: Vignettes, David Lang (their Single here: Questionnaire) , Christian Wolff, Elliott Sharp. He also collaborates with modern classical pianists Angel Ruediger, Adrien de la Salle, Andrea Vanzo and guitarists John King and Pierluigi Colangelo. His CD Dream: American Music for Electric Guitar (Mode Records) was reviewed and highlighted in the New York Times as one of the "Week’s Best Classical Music Moments”, defining the album “of disarming beauty”. Sergio Sorrentino has held solo concerts in many important festivals and venues all over the world: USA, America Latina, Europe, Asia.
