Biography

If the dull ache of existence is the caterpillar and reconciling with the uncertainty of life is the cocoon, Jerry Paper’s tenth album INBETWEEZER is the butterfly that splits its shell open and crawls out all wet and wondrous. INBETWEEZER was written on the cusp of a major life change, after Lucas Nathan – the human being behind the Jerry Paper persona, decided to return to school and become a therapist. Its crooning rockers and catchy pop jams explore complicated feelings of in-between-ness, while indulging in total freewheeling play. Nathan has been releasing music as Jerry Paper since 2012, collaborating with Weyes Blood, Mild High Club, Kari Faux, and Tyler, The Creator on the way. Where their last album Free Time celebrated the freedom of integrating their nonbinariness, on INBETWEEZER they embrace their multidimensionality. Join them in the exhilarating experience of worshiping at the altar of everything in the middle of the beginning and the end – or, as they put it, “in betwee.” INBETWEEZER is out now on Stones Throw.
