Biography

David Serendero (* 1934), Chilean conductor, violinist, composer and pedagogue of international trajectory. Main Positions. 1965-1966: Conductor of Osorno Philharmonic Orchestra. 1967-1972: Conductor of Chile Symphony Orchestra. 1968-1970: Director of Music National Conservatory at Chile University. 1973-2008: Conductor of Rhenish Collegium Musicum in Wiesbaden, Germany. Awards and distinctions. 1960: His cantata "The Legend of creation" obtains the largest prize of the Student Composers Awards organized by Broadcast Music, New York. 1962: His piano rhapsody "Reinhild" receives an honor diplom at the Eighth Festival of Chilean Music organized by Chile University. 1969: Annual Award in the music specialty of Art Critics Circle. 1970: His orchestral work "Strata" obtains the first prize of Louis Moreau Gottschalk International Competition organized by Dillard University, New Orleans, USA.
