As an artist, I write about stuff that happens to me. A bit of heartache, jeopardy, passion and hurt all make for great lyrics. I don’t suffer with stress or depression or anything else, but I probably would if I didn’t have songwriting to vent off with. I’ve been writing songs for years. I was the singer in an amateur rock band in the 90’s but the truth is we weren’t good enough, we gigged a lot, did the drinking and the drugs like everyone else. We recorded a demo at Granada studios in London which was a big deal in those days, someone from Decca (back then they sent you a letter of rejection) commented that the singer should get a better band and that was that, it all fell apart, too many egos. Since then I’ve been solo on and off. I had 15 years of not playing at all because I had to pay the mortgage and the maintenance so I drove taxis and diggers to earn a living, then I just picked up the guitar and started learning again. I’d forgotten quite a few songs that I’d written, then some new stuff came through and I started performing again. I’ve written and recorded a full album this year. It’s called “All About You” I’m in the last stages of the final two tracks, it’ll be ready in a few weeks. It’s going to be an old school CD as well as streaming and I’ll be pushing it a festivals next year.
