Biography

Bang Gang is an one man melodic pop band from Iceland founded by songwriter/producer Bardi Johannsson (Starwalker, Lady & Bird). Bang Gang is known for its blend of songwriting, electronica and glacial atmospheres. The first studio album, YOU, was released in the year 2000 through E/W Warner France. The band's internationally acclaimed second album SOMETHING WRONG came out in 2003. Five years later the personal and critically acclaimed album GHOSTS FROM THE PAST. The Bang Gang album THE WOLVES ARE WHISPERING (2015) was described as "atmospheric ghost pop” with a “unique sound”. This expansive, cinematic and hugely personal collection of songs runs the gamut of human emotion. The music of Bang Gang is often noted for its melancholic beauty and cinematic quality, which is hardly surprising: Bardi’s original film soundtracks are well known. The film De Toutes Nos Forces, scored by Bardi, attracted up to a million guests to cinemas, while music from the Bang Gang albums has been included in numerous advertisements (Armani, Citroen, Lancia, Reebok), TV series and films. The track ‘Lost In Wonderland’, from Bang Gang’s third album Ghosts From The Past, graced the Academy Award season trailer on Sky Movies. Bardi and Daniel Hunt’s (Ladytron) eerie score for movie Would You Rather has attracted positive attention. After spending time on film scores, producing others and collaborations, Bang Gang is finally back with new material.
