Nikolas "Nikko" Mercado was born and raised in Bronx, NY. With an upbringing soaked in hip hop and church culture, Nikko quickly discovered he was an anomaly among his peers. Out of place and seeking deeper truths at a young age, he turns to scripture, the music, and his pen to decipher the person he would soon become. Now as a young adult, with an EP and Album under his belt, Nikko seeks to further develop his artistry and collaboration with inspirations such as Lecrae, Andy Mineo, J. Cole, and Roddy Rich. His journey into music began in 2004 on the play ground of his Elementary school. Nikko has always had a pull to music, learning how to break dance at a young age; however this one day at the playground would forever define the life he lives. A group of students were free styling and as one rapper noticed Nikko he shoved him in the circle and peer pressure did the rest. Needless to say, Nikko failed to impress the crowd; however, a spark ignited in his heart and the hunger to write was birthed. This day would be the very foundation that doors wold swing open for the young rapper. Since then, Nikko has graduated two colleges, Nyack College and the Institute of Audio Research. He has preformed in several churches along with such local hot spots like the Blackthorn in Queens, The Spot in Brooklyn, and the Blue Room in New Jersey. From the playground to the studio to the concert hall to the church sanctuary, Nikko will blaze a trail define by his faith and love in God.
