Claude Blouin no longer needs presentation. He is one of the best and most active trombonists on the Montreal scene. He is part of major events in the country such as (Expo 67, The Olympics 76) and has played among others with prestigious names such as Nat King Cole, Harry Belafonte, Sammy Davis jr., Dean Martin, Liberace, Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti Page, Danny Kay, Michel Legrand, Maynard Ferguson to name a few. Claude Blouin was born in St-Barnabé Sud, He studied 2 years at the Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Julien Fisher and Charles Korsakov, after which he decided to continue alone. He listened to many recordings, explored the sounds, the notes, the arrangements until the intricacies of the trombone became second nature. Having mastered his instrument, he took harmony lessons with Michel Perrault, while working in the Montreal night club circuit. In a short time, his recognized talent and his good reputation opened the doors of Radio-Canada, Télé-Métropole, CFCF-TV, and the ONF and gave him the possibility of recording for a host of Quebec artists.
