Joshua "CKoolKeys" Keys was born in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans, LA. He comes from a musically enriched background with the likes of uncles, Troy Trombone Shorty Andrews, James Andrews, late cousin Travis Trumpet Black Hill and his grandfather Jesse Hill, who made the 1960's hit Ooh Poo Pah Doo to name a few Keys developed a love for music as early as age 5 when he began beating drums and blowing brass instruments and later singing and talking into microphones. That's where the later-known Ckool Keys was born. Rap was something he always liked, not only for its beats but also for the lyricism, word-play and the ways that rappers would paint pictures of their stories in their music (Jay-Z being his favorite) He began rapping at the age of 11 and was known by his close friends and family by the name of J.Keys but due to his calm demeanor he would later adopt the name, CKoolKeys which he still goes by to date. Ckool Keys prides himself as an artist of perfection in his music, he makes sure that every word connects, all of his stories are relevant to the matter at hand. His ability to flow on beats arent matched by many new-age rappers and even some older ones. Ckool Keys can just walk into a studio session, play a beat, calculate the rhythm, and start rapping without having written any lyrics and it would sound as if he did so. The future is bright for this young MC who's very passionate about his music and through all of his trials and tribulations the sky's the limit
