Mel Melody was born and raised in Tampa, Fl. Her raspy tone, runs and smooth vibe was inspired by many soulful artists such as India Arie, Brandy, Musiq Soulchild, and Toni Braxton. Growing up she would dance and sing with her mother often having jam sessions in the house with her brother who is also a musician. “ I followed in my brother’s footstep in almost everything he did. He played drums, I wanted to play too.” Mel Melody has been heavily involved into music her whole life and began writing at 13. “ I started writing poems to my crush” she says jokingly. “ That’s when it all started.
