Biography
UGLE, the 25-year old Los Angeles native born Danyel Beck started her career in music in 2010 writing covers to MF Doom and other Boom Bap rap instrumentals. Formerly known under the monikers DA P.O.P.E., P.O.P.E. and D.ThraxxDAPOPE , UGLE was heavily influenced by 50 Cent, MF Doom, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Pusha T, N.E.R.D. and The Neptunes. After releasing her grunge-hip hop debut single "Suicide" in 2011, UGLE quickly attracted major record labels to her work. The video for Suicide featured her former Premium Content bandmates Kevin Porche and Jay Ward- and a faux hand-gun. Her most popular tracks -- "POWER," and "These," helped her develop an underground following, which surprisingly led her to take a break from the music industry altogether in 2014. She knew that being a successful artist was a great possibility, but knew it would take life experience and the right team to be the artist she was truly meant to be. Breaking away from her management and production team, UGLE put a stop to creating music. After a 6-year hiatus, she is back with a sound much different from her early work. Her debut EP titled "SEE YOU IN HELL" is set to be released August 2020.
