Composer, pianist and producer Kristján Ólafsson was raised in a home full of classical and Scandinavian folk music. While the Danish/Icelandic musician started out on the trumpet in ensembles and orchestras, his true awakening came when he started playing the piano. Suddenly the entire orchestra was right at his fingertips. Kristján Ólafsson isn’t bound by genre but explores the otherworldly collision between neo-classical, indie rock and electronic music, drawing inspiration from artists such as Jan Johansson, Ethan Gruska Nosaj Thing and Hildur Guðnadóttir.
