www.floykrouchi.org Sound artist, bassist and composer of electro-acoustic music, Floy Krouchi is a polymorphous artist who probes the potential of new technologies in sound creation. Her latest piece "Sonic Totem", an interactive sound sculpture, questions the relationship between nature, human and machine as well as the function of the artifact as a magic object. Based on research on the Indian rudra veena, Floy Krouchi develops the FKBass, a bass augmented with integrated technology. With the FKBass, Krouchi explores the potential of fabricating new, unique instruments and creates her electronic bass solo "Bass Holograms" presented internationally. Winner: Villa Medicis 2009 and Face Council for Contemporary Music 2016, her work also focuses on radio art through sound pieces between essay, fiction, documentary and sound poetry (Luc Ferrari Award 2010, Italia 2011, Phonurgia Nova 2013). She has been commissioned for pieces by the GRM, La Muse en circuit, GMEM and Cesare-Cncm. She performs in Europe, India, China, the Middle East and the United States.
