French composer Laurent Levesque has made a significant impact on the world of film music. Beginning his career as a pianist in symphonic orchestras and later working as a vocal coach at the Opera National de Lyon, Levesque was introduced to film music while living in New York by the renowned composer Philip Glass. This exposure led to his first collaboration with director Costa-Gavras for the film "Amen", and since then, Levesque has gone on to compose music for over 50 films, including "Russian Dolls", "Being W. Bush", "Les Plages d'Agnès" and the Finnish TV series "Replacements". The late Agnès Varda once praised Levesque's music as fresh and reminiscent of Michel Legrand.
