Gus Ring grew up in Sweden playing trumpet in orchestras and would later end up screaming in metal- and hardcore bands. After getting his first guitar, a more fragile, dark, dreamy and melancholic pop came to him as he started recording songs in his bedroom studio. Since then his works have been compared by critics and fans to songwriters like Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice, and bands such as Sigur Rós, Interpol and Daughter. “Scandi-noir” - The Crack (UK) “Dreampop for bleeding hearts and suffering souls.” – Musikreviews (DE) “It doesn’t become generic for a second, and it’s to say the least, very original.” – Gaffa (SWE) “Gus Ring has something else, something unique, and not even if you’d point a gun to my head would I be able to put my finger on what it is.” – Drefvet (SWE)
