When you hear the phrase “Godly” hip hop artist, there is a box that usually comes along with it. D. Ricks refuses that box, stereotypes and every other stigma that comes with it. After dealing with feelings of anger, depression and not belonging for years, the Alabama native finally stepped outside of tradition to use his gift to write to reach those who may be dealing with similar struggles in 2019.
